From our Text we see God is calling us to Abide and stay with Him. That is the first call. Many times we want to get into several activities but God’s call is first to abide with Him, let’s look at how different versions put it
Complete Jewish Version (CJV)
4 Stay united with me, as I will with you — for just as the branch can’t put forth fruit by itself apart from the vine, so you can’t bear fruit apart from me.
5 “I am the vine and you are the branches. Those who stay united with me, and I with them, are the ones who bear much fruit; because apart from me you can’t do a thing. 6 Unless a person remains united with me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up. Such branches are gathered and thrown into the fire, where they are burned up.
7 “If you remain united with me, and my words with you, then ask whatever you want, and it will happen for you.
The Amplified Classic version(AMPC)
4 Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.
5 I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.
6 If a person does not dwell in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken-off] branch, and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.
In the Mark 3:14 and 1 Cor 7:24. We see Jesus and Paul instructing disciple that they have to abide, Stay, be present with the Lord before thinking about doing anything for Him

24 So, brethren, in whatever station or state or condition of life each one was when he was called, there let him continue with and close to God.
Conclusion
Are you close to God? Are you Abiding? Or are you busy with the Activities of Life. May we not lose sight of the importance of abiding with Him in Jesus name Amen
Prayer
Lord me Help to stay consistently close, consistently seeking and abiding in you in Jesus name Amen
